  Wonderful service at the bar. Great tortilla soup. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff and clean restrooms

  Went here to have lunch with my sister as this is near her home. I have been here twice in the past few years and find it to be pretty average for American style Mexican food. For me Mexican food is all about the salsa. The salsa here is very bland and more like just crushed tomatoes.
  
  The burrito and taco in the lunch special was very tasty but the salsa is just lacking, very plain and mild.

  I have been coming here for years. Every time I visit home I make sure to stop by, even though I no longer live in the area I have always considered it one of the best Mexican restaurants. On July 4 I took my friend here for lunch, I hyped up the food and was really excited to take her. The waiter we got (who I had once before) was one of the rudest waiters I have had in my life. Whenever we asked for a refill for our chips (which had been empty for 10 minutes), he dramatically asked if we needed anything else and made us feel stupid for ordering another basket. Then we ordered our meal. My friend got the enchiladas and I ordered the veggie taco salad, but with no sour cream or cheese (I can't eat dairy). I also added rice and beans. When the meal finally came my salad had sour cream and cheese all over it. I get it, its an honest mistake and happens a lot. So when he asked if everything was good I politely said that I can't eat sour cream/cheese and I said not to put it on there, so if you could please bring it back. He doesn't say a word, picks it up, and walks off. A few minutes later he comes back to the table with a completely burnt taco salad shell filled with only lettuce and rice. I then say that there are no veggies, beans, or guacamole and ask if he could please add them (since they are supposed to come on the salad). He visibly rolls his eyes, takes the plate, then comes back with an even more burnt taco shell but this time there are grilled veggies and guacamole. Still no beans but at that point I gave up. I said it looked great, thank you for fixing it, and then he left.
  
  We didn't see him again until he brought the checks, which was when I was able to ask him to please not charge me for the beans since I didn't receive them. He then goes "is there anything else" in a very rude tone. I didn't say anything else to him from that point on.
  
  All in all the food was not good and the service was terrible. I paid $10 for a burnt taco shell filled with slimy lettuce and veggies. I was embarrassed to have brought my friend there, her enchiladas weren't good either.
  
  I don't know if it's because we went on a holiday (4th of July) or what, but I will most likely not be coming back unless something changes.

  Why they always want to sit my family in the bar area ...I mean each time I come in with my kids and spouse and they try sitting us in the bar area... service is attentive and food is Mexican ....staff needs to know families with kids should not be seated in the bar area unless it's pack full of people which .... nevermind

  The food here is good, especially the salsa they bring out with the chips.  My biggest complaint is when you go there for lunch with a group, the service is extremely slow.  When going for dinner, it can be slow, but you don't
  notice as much because your relaxing.  But I'df you have limited time, such as a work lunch, the wait for food (and check) can stress you.  That is the reason they received 3 stars and not 4.
